MAHLE Especially Active at AAPEX

01 Nov,2018

MAHLE Service Solutions made several announcements at the outset of the AAPEX Expo in Las Vegas on Tuesday. Perhaps the most noteworthy was MAHLE’s agreement with Xirgo Technologies to provide the TechPro NanoKernel.

MAHLE will now provide Xirgo, a company that specializes in communication devices, with a custom NanoKernel version of its TechPRO VDS 1000 diagnostic scan tool. The NanoKernel is embedded onboard a Xirgo telematics device to access and decode vehicle information.

Rich Wolf, MAHLE’s North American general manager, explained in a press release that the NanoKernel is built for memory resource constrained devices, and “has the unique ability to pull this data without the need for an operating system on the device.”

Additionally, MAHLE this week unveiled its next generation of ArcticPRO A/C handling systems for R134a and R1234yf refrigerants. The new machines include four units to recover, recycle and recharge vehicles equipped with R134a refrigerant. Two units (ACX2280 and ACX2250) are available to service vehicles that are factory filled with the new R1234yf refrigerant.

The new A/C units are currently being displayed during AAPEX at two separate booths: No. 2661 and No. 56005.

Also on Tuesday, MAHLE announced new H and V series coated performance bearings. Clevite, a brand under the MAHLE umbrella, is offering three new coated bearing applications for high horsepower engines, designed to add durability and less distortion at higher RPM levels.

Clevite H-Series bearings, originally developed for NASCAR stock cars, utilize a medium level of eccentricity, which is believed to help keep rod housing bore deflection and deformation to a minimum.
