Key qualifications for the job market of the future
Schaeffler is already focusing on the future in the future with attractive and broad-based promotion of young talent. "An important point here is the further development of our outstanding education through the fun of learning with modern methods and projects," emphasizes Corinna Schittenhelm, board member for personnel and labor director. She adds that trends such as e-mobility, industry 4.0 and digitization are changing Schaeffler products and organization processes. Therefore, the company must be more flexible and new skills and competencies in the employees to be promoted. Against this backdrop, Schaeffler has launched the "Qualification for Tomorrow" initiative as part of its "Agenda 4 plus One" program for the future, and thus also positions itself as an innovative employer for trainees.
Innovative Training
Project 3D Printers A current component in the further development of Schaeffler training is the project "Social Competences in the Training Project 3D Printers", which is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. Partner of the funded project is the University of Bremen, Institute of Technology and Education. "We are very happy about the promotion of the Ministry, because it shows that we are on the right path," says Schittenhelm.
"The training project serves as a tangible example of the Schaeffler training change process. The topic of 3D printers is particularly appropriate due to the complexity and the related need for the exchange of knowledge, "adds Paul Seren, Head of Training Germany.
Social competencies are
becoming increasingly important Alongside their apprenticeship, trainees at Schaeffler build their own, individual 3D printer - this includes the manufacture of individual parts, assembly and commissioning - and learn the relationships between mechanics, electronics, software and hardware. The trainees have to deal with a wide variety of disciplines and skills and work closely with the various professions at Schaeffler.
With the help of this project, social skills, such as teamwork, become more pronounced and strengthened. "At the end of his apprenticeship, the trainee, in cooperation with various specialist disciplines, created his own high-quality product and accompanied it from beginning to end. As a result, he is already well connected within the framework of the training and has been able to broaden his horizons, "emphasizes Seren.
